Four Horde Defenders heroes are currently documented in first-party public records. Warden, Marksman, and Sentinel appear in the official Experience description. Vanguard appears in an official paid pass with the most detailed public kit description. This is a known-hero list, not a claim that the roster is complete.
Known hero index
Do not assign Warden, Marksman, and Sentinel detailed roles from their names. A name can help you locate the correct live entry, but the current selection panel and tooltips decide what the hero actually does.
Check your live roster
Open the hero selection interface and record which heroes are visible, locked, selectable, or labeled with an access condition. Note the save slot and date. If the roster differs from this page, the live Alpha may have changed or the account may have different access.
For each hero, read weapon, skill, passive, cooldown, and control descriptions. Unknown fields should remain unknown until the game displays or demonstrates them. Avoid copying stats from a fan page without a version and reproducible observation.
Compare control modes before power
The developer confirms autonomous and direct control. This is the first meaningful comparison because it changes your attention. Autonomous mode allows you to keep aiming towers; direct control gives you deliberate hero movement or aim but can distract from route coverage.
Test the same hero in both modes on a familiar objective. Observe target selection, position, downtime, and whether direct control solves a specific problem. Do not change hero, towers, and upgrades simultaneously if you want to understand the difference.
Read Vanguard as a documented exception
Vanguard’s pass provides actual kit language: heavy rail, a shield that shoves enemies back, and an airstrike along the aim line. That detail does not make Vanguard proven best. It simply gives players more public information than the base trio.
Pushback can move bugs relative to tower fire, so recheck aim after using the shield. Align the airstrike’s live indicator with the route rather than relying on a remembered width. Use the Vanguard guide for purchase and control checks.
Keep access claims precise
The base trio is named in the Experience description, but the public text does not say exactly when each becomes available. Vanguard is sold through a pass whose description says it is yours on every save slot. Confirm both availability and delivery in the current game.
If a purchased hero is missing, do not buy the pass twice. Check ownership, save slot, server age, and current product wording, then use official support with private receipt information.
Avoid false rankings
A reliable hero comparison needs the same level, objective, upgrade state, control mode, and current build. It also needs complete stats and observed actions. None of that is supplied for all four heroes in the public records, so a universal tier list would overstate the evidence.
Instead, ask whether autonomous behavior covers the task, whether direct control earns its attention cost, whether the hero is allowed by the objective, and what happens to tower aim after the hero acts.
Hero list FAQ
How many heroes are confirmed?
Four names are confirmed: Warden, Marksman, Sentinel, and Vanguard. The public records do not prove the roster is complete.
Which hero should a beginner choose?
Use the hero your current account offers and compare autonomous behavior with direct control. There is not enough verified public data for a universal best pick.
Is Vanguard free?
Vanguard is described by an official paid pass. It was listed at 299 Robux on October 3, 2026, subject to change.
Do heroes replace towers?
No such replacement rule is published. Heroes and towers coexist in the advertised game loop; badge conditions can restrict towers or abilities separately.
