Horde Defenders Tower List

Review the currently documented Horde Defenders towers, where each name comes from, and which effects, stats, and unlocks still need testing.

The official Horde Defenders description advertises 18 towers but does not publish all 18 names. The currently documented set comes from three first-party places: examples in the Experience description, tower names in badge restrictions, and paid-pass product descriptions. This page does not fill the remaining roster with guesses.

Known tower and defense names

Name
First-party evidence
Safe conclusion
Sentry, Railgun, Howitzer
The Experience names sentries and railguns; its aiming example mentions a howitzer.
They follow the manual-aim concept; exact projectile and stat claims need testing.
Barricade, Barbed Wire, Tar Lobber
Named among the advertised defenses.
Existence is supported; blocking, slowing, damage, and upgrade details are not defined publicly.
Flamer, Tesla coil
Named as the only tower types in the Fire and Lightning badge condition.
They are permitted names for that objective; the badge does not rank or describe them.
Drone Hive
Detailed official game-pass description.
Drones circle the aim point and attack bugs in a patrol ring with four named upgrade directions.
Chiller
Official pass name and bundle benefit.
The name is confirmed; its standalone public description is empty.

The Experience wording uses plural examples, while this list uses singular labels for lookup. That grammatical normalization does not create separate entities.

How to read an incomplete roster

Treat the live tower selection interface as the deciding source for your account. Record the display name, role text, unlock requirement, cost, upgrades, and current date. If an entry is unavailable, do not assume whether it is level-gated, pass-gated, disabled, or planned unless the interface says so.

The advertised total may include pass towers, future entries, or only the base selection; the public wording does not resolve that boundary. Do not add Drone Hive or Chiller to the count mathematically and claim 20, or subtract them and claim the remaining base total.

Separate a name from a mechanic

Weapon-like names create expectations. “Railgun” may suggest penetration and “Barbed Wire” may suggest slowing, but those behaviors are not defined in the checked first-party text. Confirm an effect through the tooltip and visible result before building a strategy around it.

Use the same caution for damage categories, armor counters, splash radius, target caps, and upgrade branches. Unknown fields should remain blank. A list is more useful when it tells you which facts are reliable than when every cell is filled with confident fiction.

Choose a tower for the objective

For an ordinary run, identify route coverage, terrain, and the attention you can give manual aiming. For One Gun Wonder, the tower count is the first filter. For Specialist, use only one tower type and no abilities. For Fire and Lightning, only Flamers and Tesla coils fit the written tower list.

The restriction comes before comparative strength. A pass tower may be useful elsewhere and still be invalid for a badge attempt. Read Badges before entering the level.

Record useful live fields

Access

Unlock requirement, pass requirement, save-slot behavior, and whether the current account can select it.

Placement

Allowed terrain, footprint, high-ground interaction, path restrictions, and visible coverage.

Fire

Aim shape, projectile path, targets, damage display, firing rhythm, and any special effect.

Upgrades

Node names, costs, prerequisites, changed values, and whether a choice can be reversed.

Attach the game state and date. Alpha changes can make an old complete table worse than a current partial one.

Tower list FAQ

What are all 18 towers?

A complete first-party list was not available in the checked public records. The names above are currently documented, and unknown entries are not guessed.

Is a Railgun definitely a piercing tower?

The name is confirmed, but piercing behavior is not stated by the public description. Check the current tooltip and observed projectile.

Does Chiller freeze enemies?

Its name and pass identity are official, but the standalone public description is empty. Exact behavior needs in-game confirmation.

Where is the best tower ranking?

No reproducible current data supports a universal ranking. Use objective, route, placement, manual aim, and live values instead.
